DOMAINSER.COM PROVIDES RESOURCES TO FILL DOMAIN NAME GAP

Seattle, WA - The fact that eCompanies paid more than $7.5 million for the domain name Business.com highlights the fact that easy-to-remember Internet addresses are a shrinking commodity.

"Companies trying to stake their claim on the Internet must either have lots of money for marketing their relatively unknown web address or a memorable name that allows for intuitive searches, preferably both," says Isa Mehmed, sales Manager at Domainser.com.

Over the past few years, businesses both large and small have come to recognize the need for establishing impressive websites to showcase products. Massive amounts of money and effort have been invested in the creation of these sites. But if customers don't remember the exact address of the site, that huge investment can be wasted. Business cards and brochures are easily lost. Search engines are great for exploring, but can lead potential customers into a confusing labyrinth of options or, worse still, direct them to competitors sites.

More than 125,000 website names are registered per month. Two years ago the rate was only 200 per month. As a result, the chances of locking up a good domain name at the registration price of $70 or less is gone. However, all is not lost. Domainser.com provides valuable domain name services, ranging from domain name consulting to buying and selling Internet addresses.

"While it is true that a bookseller going online can't register a domain name like books.com or books.net, there are lots of choices still available," says Mr. Mehmed. "For example, backtobooks.com was available until just a couple of months ago and backtobooks.net is still available. Our consulting services help companies to find domain names that are still available or assist in acquiring names that have already been registered. In many cases, all it takes is a little creativity and an understanding of what names can be successfully branded."

Visitors may purchase a domain name as a primary web location or as a second or third address that can be set up to redirect hits to a primary business site. This increases potential customers, Mehmed points out. "Because each domain name may be registered individually with the search engines, you have another potential avenue to increase your client base," he says.

Domainser.com will also help domain name owners sell or rent their established or unique domain names. The company will list a URL on its site for $9.50 for 12 months. Any further transactions are between the owner and potential buyer.

Domainser.com's website also includes resources like domain name facts, domain news, links, online tours and valuation advice.
